Ethically sourced from cooperatives in Ecuador. We extract the fat from the cacao beans using a simple compressing process, at low temperatures, to ensure most of the nutritional properties and antioxidants are retained. We use single origin Nacional Arriba variety renown for it’s wonderful fruity scent and quality.
You can use our butter for cooking, frying, baking and raw chocolate making.
Cacao butter has around 30% less saturated fat than coconut oil. Use it in place of coconut butter or oil and as a substitute for butter in vegan or dairy-free recipes.
Frying foods in raw cacao butter adds a delightful richness and you will need fairly low amount. You will need around 2g to fry an egg in and 4g for our super healthy frittata recipe!
